Message from CARB Stated:
When performing OBD tests on heavy-duty vehicles to comply with Clean Truck Check, credentialed testers must ensure the software used to collect and submit vehicle OBD data is the most current version. This means the software used for Clean Truck Check compliance testing must be the most recent CARB-certified version available from your OBD test device vendor. Tests submitted to the Clean Truck Check – Vehicle Inspection System (CTC-VIS) using OBD test devices with invalid software will not be accepted as a passing compliance test and will receive an “Invalid Software Version” test result message. To avoid any interruptions in OBD test submissions, please ensure your OBD test device(s) uses the most current certified software. If you have questions about your OBD test device’s software updates, please contact your device vendor.
When performing the emissions compliance test, please ensure the test results appear in your CTC-VIS account before releasing the vehicle. If the results do not show up in CTC-VIS within 5 minutes after completing the test, you may need to re-test the vehicle.
For more information on credentialed testers, CTC-VIS tester accounts, and testing devices, please visit Credentialed Testers & Testing Devices | California Air Resources Board.
Best regards,
